DEADFALL Terms of Use

Effective and last updated: August 27, 2026

These Terms are an agreement between you and ScopeSift LLC (“ScopeSift”). By checking the acceptance box and playing, joining a room, or creating an account, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy.

DEADFALL is a free public-beta game. It currently has no paid products, real-money currency, prizes, or cash-value virtual items.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 to use DEADFALL. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, a parent or legal guardian must review and agree to these Terms for you. Do not use the service where doing so is prohibited by law.

Accounts

Account creation and sign-in are currently disabled, and current play is guest-only. If you used an earlier account-enabled build, you remain responsible for protecting those credentials and may request deletion of the account. ScopeSift may suspend or delete existing accounts used for abuse, security attacks, or material violations of these Terms.

License

Subject to these Terms, ScopeSift grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and play DEADFALL for personal, non-commercial entertainment. No ownership in the game, its code, art, names, or other content transfers to you. Third-party assets remain subject to their listed licenses and attributions.

Acceptable use

You must not:

Multiplayer content and conduct

You retain responsibility for the display name and chat you submit. You grant ScopeSift a limited license to transmit and display that content only as needed to operate multiplayer and protect the service. Multiplayer is an account-free, casual PvE feature; anti-cheat is limited. Use private rooms with people you trust and never put sensitive information in names or chat.

Virtual credits and progress

Credits, coins, cosmetics, scores, unlocks, and other virtual items are gameplay records only. They have no cash value, cannot be redeemed or transferred, and may be corrected, reset, changed, or discontinued if needed for security, balancing, maintenance, or service changes.

Beta service and changes

Features may be incomplete, changed, interrupted, reset, or removed. ScopeSift may update the game and these Terms, limit capacity, close rooms, or discontinue the service. Material Terms changes may require you to accept a new version before continuing.

Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DEADFALL is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, preservation of progress, or complete security. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot legally be excluded.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ScopeSift will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, lost data, lost progress, lost profits, or interruption arising from DEADFALL. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for DEADFALL in the preceding twelve months or US $25. Because DEADFALL is currently free, the first amount is normally zero. Some places do not allow certain limitations, so those limitations apply only to the extent lawful.

Termination

You may stop using the service at any time and may request account deletion. ScopeSift may restrict or terminate access when reasonably necessary to address abuse, security, legal risk, service availability, or violations of these Terms. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including ownership, disclaimers, and liability limits—will survive.

General

Applicable law governs these Terms without overriding mandatory consumer protections where you live. If part of these Terms is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective. A delay in enforcing a provision is not a waiver. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement concerning your use of DEADFALL.

Contact

Questions, legal notices, and account requests should be sent to ScopeSift through the same account or communication channel that provided the DEADFALL link.
